X3: Terran Conflict Patched

27 Apr 2010 by Paul Younger
Egosoft has announced that version 2.6 of its mammoth space sandbox game, X3: Terran Conflict, is available today.

This latest patch introduces a new sequence of missions entitled "New Home," as well as a bonus pack of the most popular and useful community-developed mods for the title. It also adds a Steam-exclusive achievement system.

Achievement lovers who own the boxed version of X3:TC need not worry - it will be possible to update a non-Steam version to a Steam one for free.

Egosoft is also teasing a forthcoming method of play called "Dead is Dead." If you die in the game using this mode, you die IN REAL LIFE.

Ok, that's not true, but you will have to start your space career all over again.

X3:TC was rather buggy out of the box, but thanks to a steady series of patches and community modifications is now an altogether more splendid experience.
