Activision Joins Good Old Games

Good Old Games has announced that Activision is bringing a variety of older titles to GOG.com.GOG.com, the online purveyor of old and unavailable games, has finally struck a deal with the publishing giant to bring a load of its old games to the service.The first two games to hit the service are Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers and Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magic Obscura, each priced at $5.99 USD.Gabriel Knight is a perennial office favourite here, constantly brought up whenever there’s talk of foreboding atmosphere in games, and revolves around womanising horror-novelist and bookstore owner Gabriel Knight as he uncovers the truth behind a series of gruesome voodoo murders in New Orleans and discovers how his own ancestors are tied into it.

Metro 2033 Dated

THQ has announced that Metro 2033 will be coming to Xbox 360 and PC in mid-March.Americans will be able to play the forthcoming horror-shooter-survival game on 16 March, while Europeans will have to wait three days until 19 March to get their paws on it.A Limited Edition of the game has also been announced for both PC and Xbox 360 formats, containing an in-game automatic shotgun and four art cards by Russian painter Anton Grechko.

Command & Conquer 4 Public Beta Begins Today

EA’s Aaron Kaufman has announced that the Command & Conquer 4 public beta is due to start today, at 9am PST.Kaufman, better known to the fan community as Apoc, confirmed the news via Twitter.”Command & Conquer 4 BETA goes PUBLIC 9AM PST Thursday at Gamespot, first details here,” Tweeted Kaufman, following yesterday’s news that the beta would be starting “soon.” Was anyone expecting it to be this soon?Judging by the page on the Command & Conquer 4 site, you need to sign up for the beta with a free Gamespot account from 9am PST – that’s about 5pm GMT tonight, by our reckoning.The first wave of keys will include “thousands,” but once those are gone, you’ll be placed on a waitlist and will receive a key in the order in which you signed up.We reckon the beta’s definitely worth a shot.
