Microsoft Patent Targets Fat Gamers?

A patent filed by Microsoft for “Avatar Individualized by Physical Characteristic” appears to be targeting overweight gamers.The patent that’s been filed outlines plans to assign larger game avatars based on an individual’s real weight and size which they say will reflect “many of the incentives of the real world replicated in a virtual environment”.

Ubisoft has released a Splinter Cell: Conviction Multiplayer Q&A. And amid all the info is some bad news for PC owners: no dedicated servers.Read the full Q&A  below:
Will there be a dedicated server for Splinter PC?No, there is no dedicated server mode. How long will a match in the MP mode “Face off” last?The mode is played in a series of rounds.  The win criteria is “First to 3 victories”.  So a match can go up to 5 rounds at most.  Players can set up how long a round lasts, or how many points are needed to determine a win.  So essentially, it’s up to the players to decide on whether they want to play a series of short rounds or a series of long rounds. How does the matchmaking work exactly?

Aliens Vs Predator Coming To Australia After All

Sega has successfully appealed Australia’s refusal to classify Aliens vs Predator.The long and short of it is that the game is no longer banned in Australia, and will be released – uncut – with an MA15+ rating.“It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our appeal,” the general manager of Sega Australia, Darren Macbeth, told Kotaku.”We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever,” Macbeth continued.
