Mass Effect 2 Insanity Difficulty Explained

A post on the official Mass Effect forums has explained both the likelihood of how Insanity difficulty will be handled in the sequel, but also the reasons behind it being locked in the original game.Christina Norman, lead system designer, posted on the forums to respond to a question regarding difficulty levels being “arbitrarily” locked, as the first game required you to run through it several times to unlock the highest difficulty.

Hitman 2 Film Ties Into Game

The second Hitman film will contain elements from the forthcoming Hitman 5 game.As previously reported, Kyle Ward is writing the film sequel, but news from Variety indicates that the film will contain story elements from the fifth game.The description Variety give of the film is that “the movie [...] catches title character, Agent 47, at a low point.

Aliens RPG Officially Canned

SEGA and Obsidian’s Aliens RPG has been officially canned.Rumours about the status of the title have been floating around for months, since the online CV of a designer contained the line “Designer for canceled third-person action RPG (Xbox 360, PS3, & PC).”Official confirmation has now appeared via the Obsidian forums, with a post from an administrator reading “Unfortunately, it is true that we are no longer working on the game, and we wanted to finally announce that to everyone who has been following its development.”Obsidian is currently known to be working on Alpha Protocol and Fallout: New Vegas.

Rough Champions Online Open Beta Date

Cryptic now have a planned date for when the open Beta will begin for their superhero MMORPG Champions Online.Following a recent visit to Cryptic Studios offices, Champions Online Daily News reports that the September release date looks concrete despite the fact there is still a lot to be done to iron out bugs.The update also mentiones that a mid August open Beta test has been pencilled in by Cryptic for the middle of August.
