Warhammer Age Of Reckoning: Patch 1.2.1 Preview

Mythic has released a preview of the upcoming patch 1.2.1 for Warhammer Online, which will be hitting the public test servers this week.

The patch will feature a number of fixes and improvements as listed on the WAR site, including a change to combat responsiveness. Players have complained for months that casting times were inaccurate, and Mythic have focussed on resolving this issue. Players should no longer see a delay when spell casting in normal server conditions, and in high-lag situations there will be a slight pause after the casting bar fills up instead of a “stretch” as there is currently. The UI will also display half second increments as an additional method of predicting casting times more accurately.

Guilds with Keeps will be pleased to hear that the upgrade system is coming. Much more news will be released on this later, but for now Mythic reveals that guilds will be able to make their Keep’s defences more effective which will be funded through a maintenance fee. However, if the fee isn’t paid the upgrades crumble. Players will also be rewarded for taking a Keep and holding it until the zone is captured.

A number of other improvements are being implemented including rewards to RvR zone control, a 6v6 version of the Gates of Ekrund for players ranked between 19 – 24, and another Live event called Beyond the Sands is scheduled for the near future.

Patch 1.2.1 isn’t considered to be a major patch, but it brings many things that players should look forward to checking out in-game and Mythic is encouraging WAR players to join the test servers to give feedback on the changes.
