‘Monster Lab’ Comes to Wii and DS

21 Apr 2008  by   Paul Younger

‘Monster Lab’ allows you to become an apprentice scientist who’s job is to carry out experiments in order to create your very own monster.  There are over 100 million monster variations, and with your monster you are able to explore the eerie world of Uncanny Valley, in search of other ingredients to make more monster bits, playing mini-games or defeating other monsters.

The ultimate aim is to take down the evil Baron Mharti, the evil ruler of all things evil, liberating the villagers of this evil regime.  You have to do this by creating an army of monsters, upping your rank in the process, until you are powerful enough to take on this Baron of Evilness, Mharti.

Being an RPG, and a third party on at that, it wouldn’t be much fun if you couldn’t play it online…so the Wii version allows you to jump online and take on battles with friends or even trade items to strengthen your standing.

Excited Global Brand Controller for Eidos, Fabien Rossini, said that the game will “include gesture based combat, a compelling online fighting and trade system and total customization of the player’s monster.”

The game will be developed by Backbone Vancouver and is set for release sometime this year.
